There was once a table full of opinionated people with whom I was conversing and the topic of music came around. I write about music not because it is nonchalantly easy, far from it but because my boss likes it. My boss and my colleagues think that music is an essential part of life and today I am going to write about two of the best songs doing the rounds – Chaar Botal Vodka and Babydoll. To begin with some astounding stats about the stars of the songs : By Aman Mittal
Grammys are done. I don’t know why but I felt weird typing Grammys. Grammies? Well, moving on from the shenanigans. The 56th Annual Grammy Awards took place on January 26th 2014. It was a romantic affair between the awards and the nominees just like it should be.Like everyone I was a bit bias towards some and so some of the results surprised me. by Aman Mittal Without music, life would be a mistake.
- Friedrich Nietzsche That is some saying and it is quite the truth. While most sane people and readers of the site read about the great artists, us writers try to cover. This is going to be slightly different. This is going to be about some of the artists I think, without whom music would certainly do better. YES. IT ALSO INCLUDES BIEBER. Well, it will be a rather short insight on why there are so many YouTube sensations and how it is becoming a fad and how social networking is bringing in more garbage than quality. It was tough to search for similar artists as Bieber. It can be a matter of opinion but well according to me, it is about time people really thought about it. By Aman Mittal The year ends and what a year it has been. When it comes to music we saw a lot of albums, singles, performances come and go. In a year when DJ Hardwell became the no. 1 DJ and Metallica played a concert in Antarctica. Funny how time goes by. So this time I bring to you a list of the top rated albums by users and even critic scores as seen on http://www.albumoftheyear.org . Pretty awesome site for all music lovers. It gave me immense help in compiling this and presenting it in an ordered format. Feel free to comment with your favourite music/album for this year and check out some of the ones mentioned here. ACCORDING TO USER RATING 1. Arcade Fire - Reflektor Released: October 29th, 2013 Genre: Indie Rock 2. Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City Released: May 14th, 2013 Genre: Indie Rock 3. Darkside - Psychic Released: October 8th, 2013 Genre: Art Pop By Aman Mittal Metallica are considered as one of the best heavy metal bands to have taken the stage and I am sure everyone reading this knows at least one song from them. If you don’t, it is a shame. Get your music priorities straight cause you have evaded the greatness of a band. Here I am conjuring up something about their much debated and controversial album “ The Black Album” . Probably for me, I did not realize it until sometime back that it was ‘this’ disheartening for the thrash fans of Metallica out there, that this particular album, they went a bit slow and it was labeled a sell-out album. For me, and I am sure for most of us, it was one of their best albums giving us singles like the ballad ‘Nothing Else Matters’ and ‘Enter Sandman’ . If you scrutinize the albums that came before this, for example, Master of Puppets, this was rather low key and it is understandable that fans who were following the band were upset. For me, it was much later than its release that I was listening to Metallica and then covering their songs on the guitar. Mind you, that being said, the tracks from this particular album were relatively easier to cover for they were not as fast and followed a symmetrical arrangement of riffs that didn’t change much throughout the songs. by Aman Mittal Foo Fighters are a rock band. Wow. That sets the tone of this one just right. I’m sure unlike people who just groove to Dubstep and EDM these days , almost everyone knows about them simply because they are awesome. If you are reading this article and in the background plays the jaw dropping bass thumping, along with a kick ass bass drop single by someone like Skrillex, you are missing out on something really divine. Their music gets to you from the word go. Besides from the usual, relating to the songs, they offer musical coordination that most bands of today lack. Their live performances are even better, the fans engrossed in Dave Grohl’s voice. He pulls the crowd and if you wonder who he is, he is obviously the lead singer of the band and he was the drummer of Nirvana. Yes, the band that gave you Smells like Teen Spirit, if that’s the only song you know. I shall give the low down on the band for starters. It consists of Dave Grohl as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Nate Mendel as the bassist, Pat Smear as a guitarist , Taylor Hawkins as the drummer and Chris Shiflett as the lead guitarist. They have been active since 1994. Pretty old eh? They have recorded 7 studio albums and are currently working on the eighth. I think that’s all you need to know about the band with regards to their factual existence. Besides this, the band started off with being “influenced” by Nirvana, not surprisingly but have certainly outstripped themselves of the shadow of them. Dave Grohl had the biggest task of breaking out from the shadow of the Cult hero – Kurt Cobain. He has certainly done that and the band is one of the biggest rock bands out there attracting the biggest crowds of loyal fans. They keep the music simple, with rhythmic riffs and relatively low verses with loud choruses. Grohl follows his drummer instincts while writing the riffs and works it out string by string on the guitar.
by Aman Mittal This article focuses on a music festival which has recently sparked up on my timeline with juniors and people who I never thought listened/followed DJs posting about it. This is none other than the famous TOMORROWLAND festival.
To be truthful, most people around me did not know about it until they saw the Tomorrowland 2011 aftermovie. The craze after that, to say the least has been expected. So this is for all of the people, still wondering what this festival is about. Before everyone goes through the article , Watch this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7CdTAiaLes . This video should already make you intrigued about it. After that browse through the channel for more |
